Xensity indoor perimeter intrusion detection system

XENSITY, the evolution of indoor security.

XENSITY has moved into the world of indoor security – houses, offices, banks and businesses – the same technologies developed by DEA Security for the outdoor protection of high risk compounds, such as airports and power plants.

Smart sensors

XENSITY sensors and detection modules contain a microprocessor which analyses the alarm signals and actively communicates with the controller board. Each sensor is univocally identifiable, therefore each single alarm can be pinpointed.

Comprehensive self-diagnosis

A special self-diagnosis function periodically checks the correct functioning of each single detector and the communication bus, by promptly signalling failures and malfunctions (if any).

Differentiated alarms

The system can discriminate different types of attacks against the protected structure, such as opening (for the detectors equipped with magnetic sensors), shock/break (weak impacts), breakthrough (strong impacts), drilling (continuous vibrations), removal and thermal tamper of the detector.

Centralized management over IP

XENSITY comprehensive and user-friendly service software allows you to monitor and configure the system from a local or remote PC by means of USB ports and Ethernet (IP).

Third party integration

The system can manage the alarm signals coming from third party devices, such as magnetic contacts and volumetric sensors.

Designed and produced in Italy

XENSITY sensors and analysis units are designed and produced in Italy by DEA Security, which controls the whole development and production process.

XS-DOOR, sensor for doors and windows.

The perfect marriage of design and performance.

Sensore XS-DOOR

XS-DOOR is an addressable electronic detector which protects doors and windows against shock, breakthrough and opening attempts.

In the sensor model equipped with a magnet, the opening detection is performed by an electronic sensor with anti-masking function.

Shock detection

The internal processing unit of the detector analyses the signals generated by the piezodynamic transducer, discriminating and signalling the different types of shocks. The model equipped with magnetic sensor also signals the opening of the window and door.

Anti-masking function

The detector is equipped with an anti-masking electronic device which signals the attempts of circumventing the anti-opening sensor by exposing it to magnetic fields.

Thermal tamper

A special device inside the sensor monitors the temperature gradient to detect sudden and anomalous thermal excursions caused by tamper activities against the sensor (if any).

Removal tamper

A special tamper device immediately detects the removal of the sensor from its own base.

XS-GRID, detection module for metal grates.

Design to defy the harshest weather conditions.

XS-GRID protects metal grates against shock, breakthrough and cut attempts. The module is composed of the sensor, designed to operate in an external environment, and of a compact electronic analysis unit. The two devices are connnected by a cable protected with flexible metal conduit.

Breakthrough and cut detection

XS-GRID detects both rough attacks, such as attempts to breakthrough the metal grate, and sophisticated attacks, such as cutting the single metal bars by means of hacksaws, circular saws or hand grinders.

Thermal expansion filter

Metal grates can be subject to thermal expansion, a physical phenomenon which can cause false signals. XS-GRID solves this problem thanks to a specific digital filter which discriminates thermal expansions from real intrusion events.

Thermal tamper

A special electronic device continuosly checks the temperature gradient to detect sudden and abnormal thermal excursions caused by tamper activities against the sensor or the analysis unit.

Suitable for outdoor use

The sensor is housed inside a heavy-duty polyamide reinforced case which makes it particularly resistant to climatic agents, such as UV rays, rain and strong thermal expansions.

XS-GLASS, detection module for glasses.

The utmost protection for glazed surfaces.

Composed of XS-PU analysis peripheral unit and a SERIE A03 sensor, this module has been conceived for the protection of glazed surfaces, such as glass windows and shop windows, of which it detects the break and the drilling with diamond core bits. Simple and quick to install, the sensor is compatible with the main types of glasses currently available in the market.

Suitable for all types of glasses

The detector is compatible with all types of glasses and crystals on the market, including single-layered, multi-layered, tempered, reinforced, bulletproof, anti-intrusion and safety glasses.

Breaking and drilling detection

The module detects any attempt of breaking the glass and, thanks to a sophisticated analysis unit, also drilling perfomed with diamond core bits.

Easy and quick installation

Easy and quick to install, the sensor is mounted to the glass by means of the double-sided tape supplied with it.


The peripheral unit is equipped with an RGB LED which changes colour depending on its status (standby, tamper, alarm, pre-alarm, failure). On maintenance mode, the system automatically activates the LEDs of all the sensors to simplify their calibration and check-up.

XS-WALL, detection module for walls.

A specific protection for the walls.
Modulo XS-WALL
Composed of XS-PU analysis peripheral unit and a SERIE A03 sensor, this module is employed in the protection of reinforced concrete or masonry walls. Among the most common applications, you can find the protection of walls in warehouses, car depots and showrooms.

Very high sensitivity

Protecting walls requires a very high sensitivity, which for this sensor is provided by a transducer with piezodynamic technology.

Breakthrough and drilling detection

The module can signal any breakthrough attempt and, thanks to the sophisticated analysis unit, also the drilling performed with diamond core bits or other mechanical tool.

Compatible with the most common types of walls

This detection module is suitable for the protection of several types of walls, from masonry to reinforced concrete walls, including the ones with rigid and compact structure.

XS-CTRL, controller boards.

Can managed up to 32, 64 and 128 detectors.


XENSITY employs sophisticated microprocessor controller boards, the most powerful of which can manage up to 128 detectors or modules on two different communication buses.

These boards allow you to easily configure and monitor the most complex systems: from a PC connected to USB port or over IP you can calibrate and program sensors and peripherals, you can view their status and monitor their operating parameters.

Three powerful controller boards

The three different models of the board, which can manage 32, 64 and 128 XENSITY or third party sensors, allow you to optimise the cost and the cabling infrastructure of the system depending on its dimensions.

IP native

Thanks to their Ethert ports, XENSITY controller boards offer full TCP/IP support. This interface can be used both to perform service activities, and, from remote station, to integrate the system with third party devices or software.

Event log for each sensor

All the alarm signals coming from the sensors are stored inside a digital memory. The event log can be viewed and analysed by means of a service software which is supplied with the controller boards.

DEA MAP software support

By means of DEA NET proprietary network or TCP/IP network, the controller boards can interface DEA MAP supervision software. This software view the alarm points on a graphical map and allows you to manage, from a unique interface, both indoor and outdoor systems.

Relay expansion boards

The number of relay outputs on the controller boards can be extended by means of special expansion boards which provide further 16 programmable relays each.

Four different I/O interfaces

The controller boards are equipped with four different types of communication interface: relay contacts, for the connection to alarm control panels and other systems; USB port, for the direct connection to a PC with service software; Ethernet port, for the connection to an IP network; DEA NET interface, for the connection to the DEA Security proprietary communication network.

Software service
Who says that a service software must be flat and awkward? XENSITY service software is quite the opposite: despite that it has been designed for professionals and that it has to organize the several functions of XENSITY system, its interface is tidy, smart and user-friendly.

Simplified digital calibrations

Calibrating and programming the detectors has never been so easy. With a simple mouse click, you can set the detection sensitivity and the security level, as well as activate and deactivate tampers, LEDs, balanced lines and alarm signals per type.

Graphical view of the system

The structure of the system can be viewed as a physical or logical tree or as a sensor grating which displays, at a glance, the type and the real time status of the detectors sorted per logical sectors.

Virtual control dashboards

The main window of the software displays some graphical dashboards which allow you to control all the main operating parameters of the system, such as voltage, current, relay status, bus link quality.

Device automatic acquisition

Upon the start-up of the system, the software automatically acquires all the sensors, the relay expansion boards and the other peripheral devices (if any) along the bus. Once the expansion boards have been acquired, you can easily associate one or more activation causes to each relay.

Integrated event viewer

The software includes an event viewer which allows you to load log files and analyse them in a chronological order.

3D graph of the signals

The signals coming from the sensors can be viewed on a 3D graph which can provide a perspective overview of the sensor status.
